Advertising and marketing has a dangerous habitat of jumping on a cause when it is in the national consciousness, but forgetting about them for the other 11 months. Its also very middle class and very white.
With the murder of Geoge Flloyd, race rightly moved right to top of the agenda. And with it, the idea of recognising intersectionality within the marketing and advertising industry (or lack of it). But it wasn't long until it got sidelined again.
In a bid to keep those vital conversations alive we suggested to Lucky Generals a team up with BITE to create a podcast that became a forensic examination of how intersectionality can be recognised within every stage of the advertising process, from what we’re selling to the people we’re casting.
Produced entirely by Wildstorm PR, Uncomfortable Conversations is aimed at giving a platform to members of the amazing communities within advertising and marketing who are leading the charge to diversify our industry and bring it into the 21st Century.
We intend to answer questions like what are the key issues? How do they intersect? And how can we all become active allies and forces for positive change at every stage of the advertising process?
